About South Hams Arts Forum
The South Hams Arts Forum is an active collective of over 100 artists and crafts people from across the South Hams, and has grown steadily since its foundation in 2000. SHAF mounts an annual Arts Trail during the second half of October which extends across the region, as well as two major exhibitions at Harbour House Gallery, Kingsbridge: Contemporary Passions in the summer, and Present Maker in early December.
The Arts Trail and SHAF's summer and winter exhibitions are well-established and receive excellent reviews. They attract visitors from all parts of the country and from overseas. All artist-members of SHAF are encouraged to showcase their work in SHAF exhibitions and events.

SHAF Exhibitions at Harbour House Kingsbridge
SHAF's annual mid-summer exhibition 'Contemporary Passions' will be starting this year on Tuesday 5th July and will finish on Sunday 17th July 2022.
Contemporary Passions provides 10 artists the opportunity to showcase their latest work, and has established a growing reputation for excellence and diversity.

Present Maker is SHAF's Christmas exhibition held in early December. In 2022, Present Maker will run from November 29th to December 11th. Present Maker offers the perfect opportunity to purchase handmade gifts by local artists including jewellery, ceramics, woodcrafts, textiles, prints, paintings and Christmas Cards.

The Arts Trail
The South Hams Arts Forum (SHAF) Arts Trail is an increasingly popular event that takes place during the last two weeks of October each year. The Arts Trail showcases an extensive range of high-quality work in a variety of media created by approximately dozens of local artists.
The Trail is artist-led and artist-curated. It provides visitors with an opportunity to talk to artists, learn how they work, discover latest trends and purchase unique pieces directly from the makers. It also affords visitors the unique experience of exploring dozens of different types of venue across the South Hams, from artists’ home studios, to galleries, halls, pubs and barns.
SHAF is delighted to confirm that the 2022 Arts Trail will run from Saturday, October 15th to Sunday, October 30th. SHAF artist-members participating in this years’ Arts Trail are extremely eager to showcase new pieces they have been working on and excited to provide opportunities for visitors to view and buy work directly from themselves.

SHAF's aim is to promote art in the community by offering both established and emerging local artists opportunities to exhibit with, learn from and network with like-minded individuals. All members are encouraged to attend meetings, workshops, talks and social events, and to participate in SHAF exhibitions. Membership benefits also include the opportunity to create an Artist Profile on the SHAF website as well as publicise independent events, workshops, and exhibitions on the Members' Events page.
