About the South Hams Arts Forum
The South Hams Arts Forum is an active collective of over 100 artists and crafts people from across the South Hams. It has grown steadily since its foundation in 2000. SHAF events include an annual Arts Trail during the second half of October which extends across the region, yearly participation as an association in CRAFT Festival at Bovey Tracey, and two major exhibitions: Creative Passions (in the summer) and Present Maker (before Christmas).
These events are now well-established and receive excellent reviews. They attract visitors from all parts of the country and from overseas. All artist-members of SHAF are encouraged to showcase their work in SHAF exhibitions. Members are also encouraged to attend out quarterly membership meetings to establish new collaborations and to keep informed.

The Arts Trail
The South Hams Arts Forum (SHAF) Arts Trail is an increasingly popular event that takes place during the last two weeks of October each year. It showcases an extensive range of high-quality work in a variety of media created by dozens of local artists. It provides visitors with an opportunity to talk to artists, learn how they work, discover latest trends and purchase unique pieces directly from the makers. It also affords visitors the unique experience of exploring dozens of different types of venue across the South Hams, from artists’ home studios, to galleries, halls, pubs and barns.
SHAF will hold an Arts Trail again in October. From Saturday 12th to Sunday 27th we hope to make this year our biggest yet!
