The SHAF Arts Trail 2026
Discover creativity across the South Hams this Autumn, as the South Hams Arts Forum Art Trail returns from Saturday 10-Sunday 25 October 2026. This annual event celebrates our vibrant artistic community, offering a platform for local residents to showcase their talents, creativity, and passion for the arts.
This much-loved annual event invites visitors to explore the work of local artists and makers in studios, galleries, halls and homes throughout the South Hams; and celebrates the talent, imagination, and craftsmanship of artists working across the region.
The trail offers a wonderful opportunity to meet the artists face to face, hear the stories behind their work and see creativity in action. Visitors can enjoy a wide range of media, including painting, printmaking, ceramics, jewellery, textiles, sculpture, woodcraft, mixed media and more. Many venues will also offer the chance to purchase original pieces directly from the makers, making the trail ideal for anyone looking for a unique artwork, handmade gift, or inspiration for their home.
Set against the beautiful backdrop of the South Hams, the Arts Trail is also a chance to explore the area itself. From coastal villages and market towns to hidden studios and welcoming public spaces, each stop reveals something new. Whether you are an art enthusiast, a curious visitor, a family looking for a creative day out or a supporter of local talent, the trail offers a relaxed and inspiring experience.
Entry to the arts trail is typically free, though workshops may be charged separately. Individuals are encouraged to check individual opening times before travelling.
NEW THIS YEAR
This year we have grouped venues by locality into 4 local trails - The Dart Trail, the Kingsbridge Trail, the Coastal Trail and the Western Trail - to highlight each regional landscape, which plays an important role in inspiring our SHAF artists. See the map below for a preview.
