Anna Ventura is an artist and designer from Barcelona who moved permanently to Kingsbridge in 2009. She works from her studio in Kingsbridge where she produces work in a variety of media, which she sells in outlets across the South Hams and through her own exhibitions with SHAF. In 2022 Anna was diagnosed with a rare spinal cord condition which altered her dexterity and made her rethink working in ink due to its intricacy. So that year, she revisited ceramics (15 years after first using it in her degree) and found a media that worked well with her new limitations. She now produces sculptures in clay and oxides successfully with a focus on form rather than detail.

Anna studied Fine Arts at the University of Barcelona where she also specialised in graphic design. She then carried out her final project in Illustration at The University of Plymouth. She has successfully exhibited in the Devon scene since 2013, with works in several galleries and exhibitions – she also run her own gallery, Tidal Gallery in Kingsbridge between 2018 – 2023 (which she closed after her new diagnosis and need to focus on health).
