Biography
Mixed Media artist passionate about colour. Watercolour, acrylic and pastel painter. Inspired by the landscape and light of Devon
From an early age I had a passion for colour, especially clothes and accessories! I took a GCSE in art, but my creative side was shelved for a while.
After school I studied law and went into banking. Then in 1996 I had a life review and decided to unlock my inner creative talents. I trained as a Colour Me Beautiful Image Consultant, helping people to find their true potential through colour and style analysis and make-overs. Clients told me how selecting new and exciting colours to wear changed them in a profound way. They felt liberated, more confident and energised by colour.
My image work progressed into clients’ wardrobe weeding, bridal work and workshops and presentations. I found this developed into me intuitively feeling the colours of a room and advising people on new colour themes for their homes. Opening up spiritually, I held mediation classes which revealed the enormous power of colour through energy work.
In 2003, I went to night classes on watercolour painting which allowed me to experiment with colours on a page. I could see magic unfolding as the colours mixed and blended and I was always keen to go home with a finished piece of art!
Recent
My passion for colour has led me to experiment with acrylic and pastels and mixed media with equal joy.
I moved to the South Hams from Paignton, Devon eight years ago. The ever-changing skies, sunsets and cloud formations inspire me. My style is varied and is often described as soft, rounded and fairly loose. I am happy to paint landscapes and seascapes and in fact any colourful scenes that inspire me.
My aim is to produce art that my clients are drawn too and that will enhance their mood. Exploring colour in art and light and shade from forms around me open up my view on the world.
I paint from my home in Chillington and I am happy to undertake commissioned work.
