I was born and brought up in Cornwall. From a very young age I loved drawing and all things creative, including later, sewing. Purely by chance I was encouraged to do a GCSE in Art and Design in my forties, and then achieved an ‘A’ level followed by Plymouth Art College where I graduated with a National Diploma in Foundation Studies in art and design.

During my last year I was in the Fashion/Textile department which influenced my interest in textiles, felt-making and silk paper making. I also love combining these materials into framed pieces and card making.

My work is closely connected to nature, Dartmoor and the coast, which has been a strong influence.

I have worked broadly in 2D media and collage, recently experimenting in acrylic painting on canvas. I have exhibited widely in Devon, including Plymouth College of Art, Dittisham, a local gallery and SHAF Arts Trail.
