I believe that human beings have an innate capacity to be creative and express themselves through art. Being creative brings me joy and helps me to express my thoughts and feelings. I discovered working with clay ten years ago; I then was encouraged and nurtured by a talented local artist. I take inspiration from nature and observing the changing of the seasons, from travel and learning about different cultures, from events in my life, or in the wider world, that move me, such as loss, illness, injustice, class, and gender. I am interested in how art can shine a light on hidden issues.
