I am a contemporary artist, living and working in the South West, inspired by the sublime beauty of our environment.  I feel connected to the sea and land, it pulls at me somewhere deep inside on a primitive, visceral level. Extremes of weather, rugged land, water and the elusive light drive me to paint, to create and express myself.   My paintings attempt to evoke a feeling, a sense of place, they entice the viewer to explore their own experiences and reconnect with their memories of the ocean and landscape.  My paintings are a moment to be still, to contemplate, a breathing space on the threshold between the land, sea and sky.
