Short Biography

Combining the brilliant surfaces of ceramic and glass with the clear lines and strength of steel I make sculpture for interiors, public spaces and private gardens.

Full Biography

After training in figurative painting and printmaking at Guildford School of Art in the late 1950s, my practice gradually broadened to include abstraction and 3 dimensions – ceramic, mosaic, sculpture and fused glass – plus photography.
Over the years I’ve been fortunate to receive many commissions for both public and private spaces and to have been involved with a wide range of community and education projects – working with people of all ages and abilities in many different venues, from a Dr Barnados Training Centre to HMRC Haslar prison for immigrants, holiday play schemes and workshops for the visually impaired.

Nowadays, the impact of our human activity on the natural world is a huge concern and I often include found and damaged objects in my work, primarily because the changes and transformations they have undergone are fascinating and inspiring in themselves, but also to draw attention to the uniqueness of the things we discard.
