My passion is drawing, my inspiration the natural world, especially sea creatures and plants. I draw from life into sketchbooks, then complete each piece as a watercolour painting. I have illustrated books and exhibited here and abroad. I have been Resident Artist at the National Marine Aquarium in Plymouth for 19 years and was Artist in Residence at Cotehele Gallery, Cornwall for 18 months.

Other exhibitions include Delamore in Cornwood, Devon, Cheng-Kim Like Wildlife Art Gallery at the WWT Slimbridge, Gloucester and Tollboden, Kerteminde, Denmark. I took part in Devon Open Studios (2012) and SHAF Arts Trail (2017, ’18, ’19 and ’21).

Books include: ‘Partnerships in the Sea’, Natural History Painting with the Eden Project’, The Illustrated College Herbal’, and sketchbook Covers for the annual Big Draw event at the National Marine Aquarium. The book ‘Beneath the Blue-Green Waters’, about sea-life in the Yealm Estuary was both written and illustrated by Juliana Depledge, and published in 2021.

Paintings have been commissioned as far afield as Hong Kong, USA, Denmark and the UK.
