Michael Hill is president of Plymouth Watercolour Society and a member of Plymouth Society of Artists. Born in Plymouth he studied graphic art and design and after leaving college he worked as a freelance illustrator before taking up painting. He teaches art on a part-time basis as well as holding occasional workshops. Michael exhibits in galleries mainly in the southwest. “In painting it is important for me to convey a strong sense of place, but not to give too much away, letting form and colour melt together, hopefully to create a slight air of mystery, ” says Michael.
