Biography

I love to create art! Recently I took part in the Portraits for NHS Heroes initiative, started by artist Tom Croft. I made a total of 5 portraits. My first of these portraits of Deanna, was shown in the Herald newspaper online May 2020. My second portrait of Dr Kate Ridley was exhibited online in the google arts and culture website in August 2020.

As a teenager, I spent an academic year in the Fine Art group on the Foundation course at Plymouth College of Art and Design. I have enjoyed art since, throughout my working life, when I was a healthcare professional and I used art to relax by. I use Winsor and Newton gouache paints and their Artisan water-based oil colours on canvas to explore painting portraits or landscapes. Also I use Acrylic paints from Winsor and Newton’s Gallery range.I like to paint or sketch scenery outdoors. Often I begin outdoors and then I develop work at my home, to completion, when the weather is inclement.
