How many different perfect compositions lie within a square metre of beach and how many different shades of a single colour within one stone? Through experimentation, my styles have changed in tandem with my perception of what I see. Having drifted from realism to the edge of abstraction, there remains one constant each time I embark upon a new painting; I have no idea where I am heading and only a vague notion of how I will get there.
